So it is this time of the year again. Christmas is just around the corner! To tell you the truth I started listening to Christmas songs right about two weeks ago and I am so excited! Usually I’m not in a Christmas mood before December but I guess it was overall a good year and there is a lot to reflect on and be thankful for.

Not that approaching the New Year is the only time we should be reflecting on the past. Every single day I take a bit of time to do this. Every day, in every aspect of my life, I try to be a better version of myself. Christmas for me however has always been the time to reflect on the past year as a whole, on what I am grateful for and to think about what I want to achieve in the New Year.

I am blessed to have my biggest supporters and critics, my family and friends, to share the laughs or to look for them at the bottom of our wine glasses if times call for it 🙂 Christmas for me is the time to get together with family, which is not always an easy task given that we live in different countries. The place is never so important as long as we can all be together. There are so many nice things to look forward to at this time of the year – putting the lights up and decorating your Christmas tree, listening to Christmas songs, being with your loved ones, seeing them open their gifts, Christmas markets, the food, the smell of cookies, giving back in some way… Is anyone else as excited as I am?

Christmas is the ultimate time of hope and giving. Remember that difficult times only make us stronger, so don’t let anything dull your sparkle! Instead, remind yourself of all the things you are thankful for and all the people that you are lucky to have in your life. Sometimes we take it for granted but being healthy is the biggest gift of all.

I encourage you all to make this season more about the giving of what cannot be bought and less about the commercial and material side.

What does Christmas mean to you?
