WEEKEND VIBES

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I woke up today dreaming of the ocean, wild salt air and sun-kissed skin. You would understand if you are obsessed as much as I am with summer and all the good things that come with it. What do you dream about today? Love, Adriana Advertisements

THE 8TH WONDER OF THE WORLD

Our world is pretty amazing and there are so many places on the map that I still want to see. Today I share with you one of the most stunning places that I have ever visited. Niagara Falls can rightly be called the 8th wonder of the world. Niagara Falls were formed thousands of years ago as glaziers melted, forming Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. It is a place that I always love to come back to. I can spend hours looking at that emerald green water as it tumbles over the edge with such great force. This place is captivating! Pictures don’t do it justice. I hope you enjoy the photos and see the Falls for yourself one day!

THE PRESSURE OF GROWING UP

I recently turned 27 and for me it was a time to stop for a minute, take a look at myself, see where I am today, and ask some questions. I am just one of many twenty-something year olds trying to make sense of their lives. It’s when you hit the late twenties (or maybe earlier) that it all starts. Your social media feed fills with beautiful engagement rings, wedding photos and cute smiling babies. This can bring a whole lot of emotions. Not all of us will be affected but it doesn’t mean that we can ignore those real anxieties women face as they approach their 30s and their biological clocks tick louder than ever. Even if you don’t want to have children, you can still hear the ticking. We must have found a stable job, made enough money, found someone to have a baby with or figured out that we actually don’t want to have a baby, gone travelling, bought a house…Of course not for everyone the list would look like this, but …

THE 10 REASONS WHY I LOVE FALL

Although summer is my favourite season and I always feel a little sad when it is over, fall has so many nice things to offer too! Here is my list of things that get me excited about the changing seasons. My birthday is on the 25th of September! And very often I am on holiday at that time 🙂 Nice cosy sweaters to keep me warm. The colors! There is nothing more beautiful than watching the leaves change from green to yellow, to orange or deep red. And when they fall off the trees while the wind carries them away… Listening to my favourite song with a hot chocolate in my hand while it is raining outside. Making my morning coffee while still in my pyjamas and drinking it under my favourite blanket. Buying clothes. You need something for the new season right? Nice smelling candles and baths that last hours. Darker evenings mean there’s more time to cosy up! Cancel all my appointments; turn up the heat while watching a good movie or reading …

WEEKEND IN ANTWERP

Antwerp is without a doubt Belgium’s coolest city. It is perfect for a weekend trip. Not only does Antwerp offer you a great mix of medieval architecture and modern life, but it’s also ideal for shopping and going out. If you are a foodie like me, you would love it! Just like in every other Belgian city it’s all about that BELGIAN BEER! You can even have it in your meal. Order konijnenbil op grootmoeder’s wijze in De Groote Witte Arend. It is delicious! So if you didn’t order beer, chances are your meal will get you drunk 🙂 The interior is stylish; if you happen to be there on a nice day, the restaurant has a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy your dinner in a unique setting. Another recommendation is Billie’s Bier Kafeteria, just around the corner – it has a great beer selection as you may have guessed. I didn’t expect anything less of the Belgian beer but as I am not the biggest beer fan I was pleasantly surprised to discover …

OCTOBER FAVOURITE

I am one of those people who become nostalgic as summer comes to an end. I miss the beach, the sun and my tan that I have tried so hard to perfect. I don’t have the power to bring summer back but fortunately I have discovered the Dior self-tanner which quickly became my absolute favourite. It is subtle and very easy to apply, most importantly no orange look but a yummy bronze. It will not make you very dark but gives a natural glow to your skin. The lovely subtle colour mimics having spent a little time in the sun. It blended perfectly with my skin colour and I saw no streaks. The oil gives enough moisture to the skin and dries off quickly, so there is no need to apply lotion as well. It stays long and it has a pleasant scent. You can apply the oil to your face and body. I first bought the self-tanning gel, which I used for my face but I don’t notice much difference between the gel and the oil. I honestly think they …

LAST MINUTE BEACH HOLIDAY IN SEPTEMBER

Summer is slowly coming to an end and want it or not, sooner than you think, you will be pulling out the sweaters out of your closet. If you love the beach as much as I do and don’t want summer to be over just yet, here is an idea for you – go to Algarve, Portugal. This is the South part of the country, full of amazing beaches. And chances are that even end of September will have perfect weather for the beach 🙂 I landed in Faro and stayed in Pine Cliffs Resort, which is a short drive away from Albufeira. Its breath-taking beach location offers you unique views over the ocean. I fell in love with the interior of the place. The resort also has a great bar with a lovely view over the ocean. Don’t miss the sunset there. Enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets behind the cliffs. Since I was only there for four days and with so many things to do and lovely places to see, the …

THE GEM OF THE SOUTH

Today’s post is about Delft – the charming and picturesque city in the South of Holland. It’s an absolute must-see. The city is full of history, culture and beautiful architecture. There really is something for everyone in Delft. You can enjoy a nice walk around the many canals that go through the city, have a cold beer while observing life around you, or even take a boat trip around the city. It is not very big and in a day you can see a lot of it. Something interesting for the art lovers – the painter Vermeer lived and worked in Delft almost his whole life. In Delft you can discover more about his life. And if you want some peace and quiet, the Botanical garden can offer you just that. It is easy to reach Delft by public transport. I like to travel by train. Now lets take a stroll…
