We’ve been getting so much sunshine the past week here in the Netherlands. Even though it is still not as warm as I like it, I’ve slowly started to pull out my summer clothes and I’ve left all sweaters behind. Making sure not to miss the sunny weather, I headed to Scheveningen on Sunday. I planned a lovely lunch at The Harbour Club and took a walk around the area. I highly recommend this restaurant – incredible food and amazing view of the boats in front! Advertisements
Just at the corner of Martelaarsgracht and Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam, you will find the perfect spot in town for foodies and art lovers. 5&33 has a kitchen, bar, lounge, art gallery, and library just a few steps away from the Central station. I picked the spot for a dinner with a friend and it quickly became a favourite of mine. The vibrant venue first captured me with its design, ambiance, and elegant interior. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean flavours, offering a shared-dining concept (which I applauded after the first few dishes came around. You just want to try everything there is on the menu!). 5&33 is one of the places you love everything about. If I had to describe it in a few words, I would use inspiring, fresh, and chic.
Just like every metropolis, Amsterdam has its SkyLounge rooftop bar with a beautiful terrace and breathtaking view of the city. It’s on the 11th floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton, just a few steps from Amsterdam’s Central Station. I first visited the bar for after-work drinks with colleagues and in an instant I fell completely in love with it. Don’t forget to try the cocktails! ‘Meihana’ comes in a coconut shell (unfortunately not a real one) and tastes amazing. Although I very much enjoy the night view, the bar is a great place to go to any time of the day. It is perfect for coffee, lunch, or a quick bite.
